A family have been left "heartbroken" after a British man was fatally shot multiple times while holidaying on a Caribbean island last week.
The holiday horror saw Daniel Vettrino, 37, from Dysart in Fife, Scotland, fatally shot on the island of Canouan in St Vincent and the Grenadines on Wednesday night.
The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force was called to the Gym Hill area at 11.30pm on the night of the tragedy.
Police on the island are investigating the shooting, with a post-mortem examination due to take place.
A Facebook post by the victim's brother, Robson Vettrino Kolberg, paid tribute by describing Mr Vettrino as “a pure soul who only wanted success and happiness for all of those around him”.
Mr Vettrino Kolberg said: “He has touched the lives of so many people, from his hometown in Fife to all corners of this world.
“A unique individual, made up of so many qualities and quirks, especially his impeccable ability to drink anyone under the table.
“He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, the family are heartbroken by this loss and grateful for the love and support we have already received.

“We are all currently working hard for his safe return home and upon completion we will make arrangements for a chance for everyone to say their final goodbyes.”
The local police force released a statement earlier, saying: “Upon arrival, officers discovered Daniel Vettrino, a 37-year-old technical services manager of Colombia/Scotland, with multiple gunshot wounds about his body.
“He was subsequently pronounced dead by the district medical officer.

“A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.”
It is understood Mr Vettrino was killed in a car park in the Gym Hill area after returning from a day trip.
Local media reports suggest two men have been detained in connection with the incident.
In 2015, Mr Vettrino relocated from Scotland to Egypt, where he worked for an international peacekeeping organisation set up to oversee the terms of the Egyptian peace treaty with Israel.

He then moved to Colombia in 2023, and was said to be considering heading back to Scotland early the following year before securing the job in the Caribbean.
In August 2024, he moved to the Grenadines, where he took up a role as Technical Service Manager at the Canouan Estate Resort and Villas.
A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We are supporting the family of a British national who died in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and we are in contact with the local authorities.”
