A female British tourist has been left seriously injured in the violent riots ripping through France.
Furious demonstrations have torn through some of the nation's biggest cities over the weekend while police arrested thousands.
The woman, who is yet to be identified, was hit with a projectile which tore her calf off on October 17 in Toulouse, French media reported.
An eyewitness who worked in a nearby restaurant, called Zephirin, said the tourist was hit with the explosive while riot police shot off tear gas and stun grenades across a crowd.
The source claimed that bystanders were left sandiwched between the chaos from both the gendarmarie and the unbridled protesters.
He told French outlet Actu: "It pierced her flesh, her calf was torn off and a piece of plastic was lodged in her knee.
"She was bleeding heavily. It was very graphic and traumatic for the customers."
It is understood street medics stopped her leg from bleeding, after which emergency services took the woman to a local hospital.

Authorities confirmed at least 3,000 business were damaged or looted as more than 2,400 protesters were arrested over the weekend.
The French President, Emmanuel Macron, imposed curfews across the country in an attempt to restrain the raucous rioters on Monday night.
Ahead of the Champions League tonight, some 5,000 officers are expected to be deployed while the Prime Minister prepared the nation for another night of curfews.
Sebastien Lecornu said: "The targeted curfews have contributed to the calm of last night.
