A UK military flight carrying British search and rescue teams, drones and specialist search dogs has taken off from RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire to aid Venezuela following a horror earthquake.

The team on board the Voyager aircraft includes specialists from 14 fire services across the UK, led by Merseyside Fire and Rescue.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has said of the incident: "The UK stands in solidarity with all those affected, particularly those who have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods."

Lawmaker Jorge Rodriguez, president of the national assembly has confirmed that the death toll has reached 920 people.
