Two dead in Texas after horror plane crash as extraordinary fireball seen erupting on impact



Two people have died after a plane crash in Texas - with dramatic footage from the scene showing the moment it happened.

Thick black smoke could be seen for miles around Hicks Airfield in Fort Worth after the small plane careered into a series of lorries.


A CCTV clip from a business nearby showed the moment the aircraft hit the ground, with a large fireball seen erupting over a car park.

At around 1.30pm local time (6.30pm BST), neighbours reported hearing a loud explosion.

Emergency crews then rushed to the scene and found two people dead nearby, before extinguishing the blaze.


Fort Worth plane crash

Robbie Hoy of the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, confirmed that a plane had crashed.

He said the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) would be leading a probe into the crash.

Meanwhile, the National Transportation Safety Board revealed the make and model of the doomed craft: a Beech King Air C90, which typically seats up to six people.
