A police officer has been injured and two churchgoers have died in a series of shootings at a church and airport in Kentucky.
Worshippers Beverley Gunn, 72, and Christina Colms, 32, were shot dead as they tried to escape Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington, while two men were wounded and taken to hospital.
The state's Governor, Andy Beshear, said the suspect had also been killed following the attacks.
He has been identified but his family is yet to be notified.
The church shooting had followed another incident at Blue Grass Airport, on the other side of the city, where he shot a state trooper.

The suspect was said to have "car-jacked" a vehicle before speeding to Richmond Road, where he was eventually cornered.
Beshear said the trooper "from the initial stop" and the victims from the church were "being treated at a nearby hospital".
"Please pray for everyone affected by these senseless acts of violence, and let's give thanks for the swift response by the Lexington Police Department and Kentucky State Police," he said.
The suspect shot a trooper in Fayette County, home to the airport, at 11.36am (5.36pm BST) before fleeing, according to a statement from State Police.
"There are multiple victims at the church, and EMS is on the scene providing care," the force said. "The suspect is deceased."

Blue Grass Airport confirmed in a statement that an "incident" occurred on its property.
It added that it temporarily closed a road and its terminal out of precaution. Both have since reopened.
"We were the first to the scene after the shooting, barely escaping a head-on crash from the shooter while he drove out of the airport the wrong way," witness Gena Roland said.
"The trooper was thankfully awake and coherent when the ambulance arrived, albeit in a lot of pain.
"It was intense. There were many good samaritans that stopped and ran to the trooper.
"I think we had five of us down there before the cops and paramedics arrived on scene."
And in a third shooting, three other people were wounded in the early hours of Sunday - on the other side of town to the airport.
There, a woman suffered life-threatening injuries, while two men were wounded and drove themselves to hospital.
The earlier shooting does not have any known connection to the airport and church attacks.
