A man being transported to a magistrates' court has attacked a number of police officers during a daring escape in Wiltshire.
Around a dozen police officers responded to Serco’s urgent assistance call on White Hart Roundabout in Swindon.
The incident, which took place at around 9.45am, came as the man was being transported to a magistrates' court.
The man, reportedly aged in his 20s, also attempted to injure himself just half a mile from Gablecross Police Station.

Two security officers intervened but were assaulted.
A pair of police officers were also attacked after responding to the incident.
The incident resulted in a significant response from Wiltshire Police.
At least 10 police cars surrounded the police van at the junction for Oxford Road.

The junction was closed due to a house fire in the nearby area.
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service were called to deal with the blaze at around 9am this morning.
Heavy smoke was billowing from the property as fire crews prepared to battle the flames.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “Oxford Road, Lower Stratton is closed following a house fire.

“Officers are supporting our colleagues at Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service while they work on the fire.
“The road is closed from the White Hart roundabout due to large amounts of smoke. Please avoid the area.”
Wiltshire Police separately confirmed the officer-assaulting prisoner was subsequently arrested.
He was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and attempting to escape lawful custody.
The man has subsequently been returned to Gablecross custody for questioning.
