Joe Biden was spotted losing his bearings during another gaffe-ridden speech.
The US President was hosting Pacific island leaders in a charm offensive to block further Chinese inroads into a region of strategic significance for Washington.
He will have done himself no favours when calling upon the prime minister of the Cook Islands to take to the floor, as he turned to his Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, instead.
Concluding his speech, he said: “I’m now going to turn this over to the Cook Islands, I’ll turn this to you.”
Biden said this while facing Blinken, who was forced to point his boss in the opposite direction in yet another embarrassing moment for the president.
The 80-year-old has sparked concern for his cognitive competence on multiple occasions in recent months, including at a speech last week where he repeated the same story twice.

- Joe Biden 'mentally incompetent' says Giuliani as he makes surprising plea
- Robert F Kennedy Jr tells Americans he will 'make border impenetrable' as Texas sends MORE buses full of migrants
- Joe Biden backed to secure Democrat nomination despite ‘competency’ concerns: ‘No-one stepping up!’
Speaking about the 2017 Charlottesville riots, Biden repeatedly told the audience why he opted to run for presidency.
The US president recalled “folks walking out of the fields literally carrying torches with Nazi swastikas singing the same vicious, antisemitic bile” on multiple occasions, citing it as the moment he decided to run against Trump in the 2020 election.
Just a day later, Biden claimed he had been to the site of “every mass shooting”.
Speaking in Washington, the president made the false claim in a bid to deliver a “simple message”
He said: “After every mass shooting, we hear a simple message – the same message all over the country. I’ve been to every mass shooting. ‘Do something. Please do something.”
Biden is seeking re-election next November, but many Americans harbour concerns about his age.
The president falsely claimed this month he went to ground zero the day after the 9/11 attacks, when he’d actually visited over a week later.
While the 80-year-old has passed health checks, a recent AP-NORC survey suggested more than three-in-four Americans claimed Biden is too old to run in 2024.
Biden is the oldest living president ever, and would conclude his second term aged 86 should he successfully win a second term.
Earlier this month, the US Libertarian Party filed for conservatorships for Biden and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, 81.
